Lakota Adds Marketing Research Firm to Internship Program Student Opportunities in Marketing & Market Research
“We’re pleased to add this unique dimension to our business partners as marketing and marketing research plays such an important role in strategic business operations,” said Lakota Superintendent Dr. Karen Mantia. “In addition to
traditional qualitative research methodologies such as focus groups
and product tests, digital marketing is a growing business sector,
with a high demand for skilled employees.”
“Although we have
been around since 1982, in a way we have been the best-kept secret in
the Cincinnati area,” said Steve Whayne, Director of Research &
Marketing. “We wanted to get more involved in the local community,
and we thought that connecting with Lakota Local Schools was a great
idea. Giving students a look at how businesses use marketing, market
research, and social media is invaluable, and they can take this
knowledge and reapply it to almost any career path.”
Views will offer its first student internship experience during this
summer’s program, consisting of five rotations over multiple days.
Specific rotations include: marketing, advertising and market research
101; digital marketing and business development; research design;
research execution; and case study results.
incorporates plenty of opportunity for hands-on work, allowing students
to learn about then practice conducting an actual focus group, active
listening tips, the role of social media in today’s business world and
basics of business development.
In total, about 45 juniors and
seniors will be selected to participate in one of 11 different summer
program options ranging from local government, finance and sales to
communications, business operations and biomedical sciences.
