This week, Hopewell Junior School’s drama club presented its second – and final – production of the year. “Doc Doc Goose” is a comedy based on favorite and familiar nursery rhymes. The final performance will take place this evening (April 15) at 6 p.m.

In the fall, the club performed “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, so the group was looking for something a bit more lighthearted for their spring play. “Doc, Doc Goose” was the perfect choice; it is based on nursery rhyme characters visiting Doctor Goose’s neighborhood clinic where each patient’s treatment is personalized – even if the treatment is a little silly.

“The club had a wonderful time preparing for and performing this play,” said teacher Courtney Jacobs, who served as the club’s advisor. “Before our opening night some of the cast and crew shared their thoughts on the show and on drama club in general, saying they were glad to have become a ‘family’.”

Jacobs said that most of the "family" will stay together and continue on with the drama club next year, but three of the fourteen cast members will be taking their acting talents to the Lakota East Freshman Campus.
