Lakota East Freshman Welcomes New Associate Principal

LakotaRob Burnside Local Schools has hired Rob Burnside as the new associate principal to lead the Lakota East Freshman Campus, pending school board approval.

Burnside was part of the original teaching staff that helped open Lakota East’s doors in 1997. After spending nine years as an English teacher at East, he moved into school administration. He is rejoining the Lakota team with 10 years of experience as the assistant principal at Kings High School.

“Mr. Burnside is a Thunderhawk at heart and we are thrilled to welcome him back into the East family,” said Lakota East Principal Suzanna Davis. “He’s established himself as a strong instructional leader with a passion for student success and I’m excited to see some of the fresh ideas he brings to our freshman campus this year.”

“It’s critical that our school leaders combine passion with a high level of skill,” said Lakota Superintendent Matt Miller. “Mr. Burnside o
bviously has strong ties to the Lakota community and an expertise in secondary education. I am happy to have him on our team.”

Burnside graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Master of Arts in education from Wright State University.
