Lakota East Freshman Campus Students Help Strengthen Kindergarten Literacy Skills
Throughout the 2010 – 2011 school year, students in Dorothea Meyer’s Freshman Math Classes at the Lakota East Freshman Campus will be interacting with Buddies in Kristin Sellers’ Kindergarten Class at Liberty Early Childhood Center in an effort to strengthen literacy skills across the curriculum for all students.

Lakota West Girls' Volleyball Serves Up Breast Cancer Awareness
The Lakota West volleyball team will be challenging more than Oak Hills on Thursday, September 9. They’ll also be raising money to beat breast cancer for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Last year the team raised over $10,000 for the Susan G Komen Foundation. In addition, the girls helped to educate the school community and raised awareness by selling 1,800 fan shirts. This year we hope to improve on these efforts.

Lakota East Student Wins Scholarship from The Cincinnati Better Business Bureau
Garrett Holsinger, a senior at Lakota East High School, has been chosen as one of the winners of the Cincinnati Better Business Bureau’s Student of Integrity Scholarship Program. Garrett will receive a $1,000 scholarship toward post-secondary education.

East Teams Join Volley For Cure Effort
This fall several Lakota East athletic teams will join the Susan G. Koman Foundations fight against breast cancer. In past years the annual fundraising to raise awareness and funds for the foundation have concentrated on volleyball. This year multiple teams that will include football, mens and womens soccer and volleyball teams will host fundraising activities at their event venues. Winter and spring sport teams are also considering promotions for this important cause.
