Hopewell Jr. Students Earn Gold at the 2010 FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) National Leadership Conference

Mrs. Tracy McKinney accompanied three students from Hopewell Junior School to the conference that was held in Chicago, Illinois from July 4 – July 8, 2010. During the conference students gained leadership skills, learned more about career options and competed in the STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) Events.

More than 6,100 teenage students, adult advisers, and guests from across the country participated in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) annual National Leadership Conference and 65th Anniversary Celebration

FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education. FCCLA has over 200,000 members and over 6,500 chapters from 50 state associations, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The organization has involved more than eleven million youth since its founding in 1945.
