Lakota Earns Top Grades in Education Rankings

logos for Niche and US NewsThe Lakota Local School District earned an “A” grade and ranked in the top 6% of school districts in America and in the top 7% in Ohio in the 2022 Niche education report. Niche rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education along with millions of reviews from students and parents. Key factors examined include academic quality, diversity, teacher quality, student-teacher ratio, and school size. 

 

All of Lakota’s ECS/elementary schools had a grade of B+ or higher, with Independence, VanGorden and Heritage taking the top three public school spots (out of 44) in Butler County. Lakota’s eight elementary schools were in the top 14.

 

Plains Junior was number one of 17 public middle schools in Butler County and all four Lakota’s junior schools were in the top five.

 

Lakota East and West high schools were ranked #1 and #2 of 11 public high schools in Butler County. Both also were in the top 6% of best public high schools in Ohio (out of 816).

 

The two Lakota high schools also did well in the U.S. News & World Report 2021 list of top U.S. high schools. These high school rankings are based on third party sources such as the U.S. Department of Education, statewide math and reading assessments, graduation rates, and Advanced Placement examination data. Both East and West were in the top 8% of 872 Ohio high schools.
