Lakota Special Olympics SPORTS

Track and Field

Track and Field practice will start March 14 @ Lakota East High School Track (behind the high school) from 10:00-11:00. Practices will be March 14, 21, 28 and April 11, 18 and 25. All athletes must participate in 5 practices in order to participate in the meet this year. The meet will be May 2 @ East High school. Please have your son/daughter dress warm because we cannot always get inside and it is still cold in March.

To sign up, please contact Debi Williams at Debi.Williams@lakotaonline.com or call 513-310-7765 by March 10. Please make sure you sign up so I have your medical at the first practice.

ALL ATHLETES MUST HAVE A CURRENT MEDICAL ON FILE TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE EVENTS AND MUST SIGN UP PRIOR TO THE FIRST PRACTICE.

Lakota Bowling League

A bowling league will be forming for students with and without disabilities in grades 2-12 in the Lakota school district. It will held on Wednesdays from 4:15-5:45 p.m. at Mason Bowl. The dates are February 18 and 25, and March 4, 11, 18 and 25. Due to league bowling, this is the only time that is available.

We will start promptly at 4:30. If a bowler is not there by the 5th frame, then their average will be used for the first game and they can bowl their 2nd game. Bumper bowling will not be permitted as it does not teach students how to bowl. Parent help would be greatly appreciated.

The cost is $36.00, which includes bowling 2 games and shoe rental. Payment will be collected on the first bowling day (February 18) and all checks should be made out to Mason Bowl.

For those of you who participate in Special Olympics bowling, there will be a tournament on April 25 at Mason Bowl. Note: in order to participate in the Special Olympics tournament, you must have a current medical.

Please sign up by February 13 by emailing me at debi.williams@lakotaonline.com. Please include the studentss name, grade, phone number and name of school. If you want certain students together on the same team, please indicate that in the email.
